“There are no straight lines or right angles in nature.” That’s a very common believe and it’s definitely a fact that most of the times you see them, they are man made.
The ones captured from a high-floor of a skyscraper on Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo (Brazil) are obviously not natural, but here come a few examples which might come handy when the topic comes up again around you:
- The individual strands of a spider web, from point to point, are straight lines if there is no wind
- Crystals inside amethyst geodes and also quartz form straight lines and even right angles.
- Many movements if they are not impacted by external force
- Walls of honeycombs
If you know more examples, please share them.
